Quartzite is available in two different options that include hard and soft quartzite.
Hard Quartzite
It is the most durable form of quartzite and rivals the durability of granite. The slabs will not stain, scratch or corrode upon contact with acid.
Soft Quartzite
Its durability is between that of granite and marble. Soft quartzite is more durable than marble but falls short of matching the durability of granite. The reason being that soft quartzite contains calcium carbonate which makes it susceptible to acid etching.
However, both soft and hard quartzites are good options for countertops, backsplashes, and other applications.
